Order of the Amaranth
A fraternal order woven from centuries of tradition, bound together by purpose — and still growing.
A Community Built on Timeless Values
The Order of the Amaranth is a fraternal, social, charitable, and philanthropic organization open to Master Masons and their properly qualified relatives — men and women united by shared conviction and a desire to serve.
Although a belief in a Supreme Being is foundational to membership, we welcome many faiths. Our Ritual is the heartbeat of the Order: a living expression of the values we carry into everyday life.
We strive for personal growth while reaching outward to those who need our help. From local communities to global research programs, the impact of Amaranth members is felt far beyond the doors of any Court.
Truth
We speak honestly with one another and with the world — holding fast to integrity even when it demands courage.
Faith
Belief in a Supreme Being anchors our brotherhood and sisterhood, reminding us that service is a calling, not merely a duty.
Wisdom
We seek understanding before judgment, and act with deliberate purpose in all charitable endeavors.

Global ReachThree Centuries of Purpose & Tradition
At just six years old, Christina became ruler of Sweden. As she grew into queenship, she created the Order of the Amarantha for the ladies and knights of her royal court — building it around the character of Lady Amarantha, an emblem of virtue, beauty, and honor. The jewel of the Order bore the motto dolce nella memoria — "Sweet is the memory."
Inspired by the Swedish Order, Newark's James B. Taylor began assembling material for a new American society, adopting both the name and much of the ceremonial character of Queen Christina's court.
Brother Robert Macoy formally organized the Order of the Amaranth on June 14th in New York City as part of the Rite of Adoption. From this moment, the Order had a home, a ritual, and a mission.
By mutual agreement, the Amaranth separated from its Eastern Star membership requirement, becoming a fully independent fraternal organization standing on its own four virtues.
The Amaranth Diabetes Foundation was formally adopted as the Order's primary philanthropic project, channeling members' generosity into life-saving medical research through the American Diabetes Association.
The Grand Court of Arizona carries the flame — 43 Grand Courts worldwide, $18M+ raised, and a growing family of members committed to Truth, Faith, Wisdom, and Charity.
